Published randomized studies have evaluated commercial mouthrinses containing 0.05% CPC. A six-week trial reported plaque and gingivitis control compared with a CPC-free control, while another randomized trial evaluated alcohol-free 0.05% CPC as an adjunct to toothbrushing.
These studies do not prove that every 0.05% private label formula will perform identically. They do show that 0.05% can be a technically credible level when the complete formula, directions, and evidence are aligned.
